Hoffman, Frank
Frank Hoffman began creating book and magazine illustration for such great writers as Jack London, Zane Grey, Courtney Ripley Cooper, Gene Stratton Porter and many others. From 1928 to 1940 he specialized in painting thoroughbreds and making small statues of them. He began painting western and outdoor images exclusively for Brown & Bigelow in 1940. During the next thirteen years, Hoffman completed more than 150 calendar pictures covering a wide range of subjects including hunting, fishing, cowboys and the history of the American West frontier.
